What Eidos does
Eidos convenes rather than lobbies. It creates the conditions for Australians who would not ordinarily share a table to think through a hard question together, and it publishes what is learned.
Three programs carry the work: invitation-only capital-city dinners of about twelve people; national online dialogues hosted on the Mindhive platform and open to any Australian at no cost; and independent research and discussion papers written for thoughtful readers rather than specialists.
The Eidos Collective is the public membership community that sits alongside these programs. Joining is free and requires only a name and an email address.
How Eidos differs from a conventional think tank
Eidos does not produce policy recommendations. It produces better questions, and the shared understanding needed to answer them.
The method is deliberately intergenerational: elders and emerging leaders are placed in the same conversation, on the view that neither group can read the country accurately on its own.
Independence is structural. Eidos avoids convenings funded by parties with a direct stake in the outcome, because the agenda otherwise shapes the conversation before it begins.
