Eidos Online Tools

Codocs is a website enabling groups of people anywhere in the world to collaborate online to create documents, strategy, policy, reports and other formally structured content. It's a sort of content management system crossed with a blog, crossed with a wiki crossed with a forum, and designed with a specific purpose in mind. Unlike a blog or a wiki, Codocs is based around a hierarchical tree, where each page is linked in a formal structure - a taxonomy of ideas and contributions. Codocs has several channels for interaction:
  • Via the web - using the online interface, with word processor-like editing tools, and the page tree navigation.

  • Via email - receive updates, and contribute new pages, with new content automatically inserted into the page tree.

  • Via XML/RSS - read Codocs page updates via an RSS news reader, or use your own proprietary systems to import the RSS feed.
Codocs came into existence after a group of people asked for an online tool they could use to collaborate together on social and economic policy development. Eidos members have access to Codocs - currently more than 50 members are participating in co-authoring tenders, project and policy proposals. It grows each week as research and tender teams form.
