Description


Eidos is establishing a Foundation to attract and manage funding for the development of educational and social change programs. Funding will be invested in educational and social research projects and, graduate and post-graduate scholarships aligned to the strategic direction of the Eidos partners. The Foundation is drawing on the experience and expertise of similar approaches in the United Kingdom and elsewhere. It also will be structured according to Australian taxation requirements.


Benefits

Contribution towards Eidos goals and targets
Eidos + Foundation contributes to the Goal 1 targets related to the number and value of research projects amongst partner agencies. The foundation also supports Goal 2 targets related to profiling the performance of partner agencies, particularly amongst potential donors.


Benefits for partners
Partners benefit from Eidos + Foundation by the provision of additional funding for research, particularly for early-career researchers. There will also be benefits in aligning research with the concerns of donor agencies.


What Eidos will do

Eidos is:
  • Researching the options for creating a Foundation
  • Reviewing the implications of a Foundation (legal, taxation etc)

  • Developing a business case for the Foundation

  • Implementing the business plan for the Foundation

  • Lobbying donors.

What partners contribute

Partners are expected to:
  • Identify potential donors to the Foundations

  • Provide access to legal and business advice

  • Identify potential projects for securing donations

  • Develop the business rules for allocation of Foundation funds.

Evaluation

Foundation is evaluated in terms of:
  • Amount of funding generated

  • Audited performance of the Foundation

  • Partner satisfaction with the performance of the Foundation.
